I've been fasinated by ectotherms as long as I can remember and kept crayfish (and other "crusties"), off and on since the 1940s, with varying success... Back at it now a little with my first Marmo, named "Gomi". I've had her for about a month. She has yet to reproduce...(I'm in no rush). she's about 2" long and growing.
I'm a bit surprised to see she seems to have made the connection between me and feeding...comes out and approaches me from her side of the glass when I look in. I'm used to such behaviour from my turtles, frogs and newts, but was a bit surprised to see it from an invert. Have you observed such responses also?...would love to hear about any other indications of intellegence in crusties that you've noted... :D - Don
